Founded in 2025, Redden Custom Woodworks is a one-man shop in St. Helena, California, focusing on single-item custom furniture. Crafting raw materials into heirloom-quality pieces is a labor of love, and while that stands at odds with a consumer culture of convenience and disposal, some pursuits are best performed in the time-honored ways.

Sean Redden is a self-taught woodworker. For him, woodcraft provides a primal sense of agency, and he finds deep appreciation in a final form that serves a purpose—both in aesthetics and function. When not in his shop, he enjoys western horseback riding, ’50s and ’60s blues and country music, and finding new environments to pace around in.
